Wilmington Man Arrested on Felony Drug Charges During Traffic Stop

On June 2, 2026, at approximately 10:15 a.m., members of the Newark Police Department Street Crimes Unit observed a vehicle on South College Ave that was associated with a shoplifting investigation by another agency. Officers conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Donelle Harris, 44, of Wilmington. During the investigation, Harris was found to be in possession of a felony level quantity of crack cocaine and Oxycodone/Acetaminophen pills.

Harris was taken into custody without incident and transported to Newark Police headquarters. He was charged with the following offenses:

• Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance in a Tier 2 Quantity
• Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance

Harris appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 and was released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
