Two Newark Men Arrested on Outstanding Warrants and New Gun and Drug Charges

On February 18, 2025, members of the Newark Police Department initiated a search warrant at the Hunter’s Crossing Apartments, located in Newark Delaware.   Officers were seeking to arrest Stephan Lloyd, 28, and Dahmir Lewis, 26, both of Newark Delaware, on outstanding warrants.    Both were located inside the residence and were arrested.

A search of the residence was conducted which resulted in finding a loaded handgun, that was previously stolen from New Castle County in 2016, a loaded magazine, a quantity of crack cocaine, and a quantity of heroin.

Lloyd had outstanding warrants and was wanted on the following:

  • Theft – Organized Retail Crime Over $1,500
  • Shoplifting Over $1,500
  • Conspiracy 2nd
  • Shoplifting Under $1,500
  • Additional Rule 9 warrants and court capiases, as well as a street warrant from another police agency

Lewis had outstanding warrants and was wanted on the following:

  •  Violation Of Probation (x2)
  •  9 active court capiases

In addition to the outstanding warrants, both defendants were charged with the following new charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
  • Receiving a Stolen Firearm
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Possession of Heroin
  • Possession of Crack Cocaine

Lloyd was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Facility in default of $13,000.00 secured bail.

Lewis was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Facility in default of $12,000.00 secured bail and $11,500.00 cash bail.
