New Castle Man Sought In December Burglary

On December 29, 2022, Newark Police responded to an apartment on Easton Court for a report of a burglary.  The victim reported that he left his apartment in the morning and returned in the evening to find personal property missing from the apartment.  There were no signs of forced entry.

A few days later, a check belonging to the victim was found in a bag in a common area of the apartment building.  The check had been forged to change the date it was issued and had been endorsed by a suspect named Lawrence Bracy.  Further investigation determined that the check had been deposited into Bracy’s bank account.

On January 5, 2023, Newark Police obtained an arrest warrant charging Lawrence Bracy, 26, of New Castle, with offenses including Burglary Second Degree, Forgery Second Degree and Theft Under $1500.
