Newark Police Receive New Police Athletic League Trailer

The Newark Police Department is pleased to announce the receipt of a new Police Athletic League equipment trailer.  The trailer is supplied with equipment, games, and other items to assist the Newark Police Department Special Operations Unit with its youth outreach efforts.

The acquisition of the trailer and all associated equipment was only possible because of the generosity of the PAL Board and donations received from businesses and members of our community.  The collaborative effort is evidence of the Newark Police Department and community organizations working together to foster positive interactions with young people in our community.

Chief Paul M. Tiernan stated: “The benefit of a mobile PAL trailer over a fixed building location, is that the trailer will allow members of the police department to go into the various neighborhoods where residents and young members of the community feel comfortable and secure.”

The Newark Police Department command staff, officers, and Special Operations Unit members would like to thank the PAL Board of Directors and donors listed below for making this possible.  We look forward to the community engagement opportunities that this PAL trailer will present.

The public is invited to see the trailer and its contents during National Night Out on East Main Street on Tuesday August 3rd from 6 – 8 pm.
