Fugitive From Georgia Apprehended

On March 9, 2020, Newark Police were contacted by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (Georgia) in reference to a wanted person.  Forsyth County Deputies were searching for Ryan Pilkington, 20, of Cumming, GA, who had an active warrant in Georgia for the crime of Aggravated Child Molestation.

Pilkington was found to be residing at an apartment in the 800 block of District Drive in Newark.  Officers went to the residence and contacted Pilkington, who was taken into custody without incident.

Pilkington was transported to Newark Police headquarters where he was charged as a fugitive from another state. He appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 by video and waived extradition to Georgia.  He was ordered to be held without bail. Pilkington was turned over to the custody of the Howard R Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington.

Questions as to the underlying charge should be directed to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
