WHAT: Public Safety Explorer Post Open house

The Newark Police Department and the AETNA Hose Hook and Ladder Company announce an open house of the Public Safety Explorer Post.

Public Safety Explorers is for high school aged youth who have an interest in the careers of police, fire, or EMS.  Participants will meet twice a month to examine different aspects of each career field.  There is no cost to participate.

Participants will receive hands-on experience with:

• Fire fighting
• Emergency medical services
• Police investigations
• Forensic investigations
• Crash investigations
• Patrol procedures
• DUI investigation
• and more!

There will also be several opportunities for volunteering within the community.

The open house will be held on Thursday September 21 at 6:30pm at the Newark Police Department located at 220 South Main Street in Newark, DE.
