On 07/05/19, at 0420 hours, a robbery was reported at the 7-11 store located at 202 South Main Street. The store clerk advised that the suspect entered the store and displayed a knife while demanding money from the register. The clerk backed away from the register and the suspect went behind the counter in an attempt to open the register. The suspect was unsuccessful. The clerk then confronted the suspect in the parking lot as the suspect was trying to flee. The suspect pushed the clerk to the ground and fled the area. The clerk was not injured during this incident.
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and was armed with a knife.
A K-9 from the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office tracked the suspect southbound on South Main Street, where the track was lost.
There is no surveillance video available for release.

On June 22, 2019, at about 0229 hours, a suspect entered the Caffe Gelato restaurant in the unit block of East Main Street. The restaurant was closed to customers at the time, but the suspect entered undetected. While inside, the suspect rummaged through the restaurant office and removed property belonging to the business. The suspect then fled the area.
Newark Police Detectives reviewed surveillance footage, conducted witness interviews and used other investigative means to identify <REDACTED> of Wilmington, as the suspect in this incident. A warrant for his arrest was subsequently issued.
On July 2, 2019, <REDACTED> was arrested at his residence in Wilmington without incident. He was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft Over $1500. He appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 where he was released on $3,110 unsecured bail.
