On June 22, 2019, at about 0229 hours, a suspect entered the Caffe Gelato restaurant in the unit block of East Main Street. The restaurant was closed to customers at the time, but the suspect entered undetected. While inside, the suspect rummaged through the restaurant office and removed property belonging to the business. The suspect then fled the area.
Newark Police Detectives reviewed surveillance footage, conducted witness interviews and used other investigative means to identify Tymere Hall-Pennewell, 18, of Wilmington, as the suspect in this incident. A warrant for his arrest was subsequently issued.
On July 2, 2019, Hall-Pennewell was arrested at his residence in Wilmington without incident. He was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft Over $1500. He appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 where he was released on $3,110 unsecured bail.
