Academy Street between Main Street and Delaware Avenue
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event brings residents, first responders, and community organizations together to help make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live and work.
Newark’s National Night Out celebration will take place on Academy Street between Main Street and Delaware Avenue from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The event provides members of the public with an opportunity to meet local first responders, learn more about the work they perform each day, and explore equipment and specialized units from participating agencies.

Activities scheduled throughout the evening include:
Mission BBQ and the Newark Police Department will provide complimentary food, snacks, and drinks while supplies last.
The University of Delaware Creamery Moo Mobile has also been invited to sell its legendary, locally made ice cream.
