Middletown Man Charged with Lewdness and Indecent Exposure

On October 14, 2023, Newark Police responded to the rear of a business in Shoppes at Louviers on Louviers Drive for a report of an indecent exposure.  Officers detained a male subject, identified as Patrick Ellison, 27, of Middletown.  The reporting person was not available to speak with officers at that time and Ellison was released.

Later that day, a Newark Police Officer was able to contact the reporting person.  The reporting person advised that while driving in the rear of the business, they observed a male subject exposing his genitals and performing a lewd act.  The reporting person and their friend, who also witnessed the incident, provided a description to the officers confirming the suspect was Ellison.

On October 19, 2023, Ellison was taken into custody at his residence without incident and transported to Newark Police headquarters.  He was charged with two counts of Indecent Exposure Second Degree and two counts of Lewdness.  He appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 by video and was released on $2,000 unsecured bail.  Ellison was also found to be wanted as a fugitive from Pennsylvania and was turned over to the custody of the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington to await extradition.
