Pennsylvania Burglary Suspect Arrested at Newark Hotel

On July 14, 2022, Newark Police were contacted by the Lancaster (PA) Police Department about a burglary suspect.  Lancaster Police were searching for Mitchell Felix-Morales, 27, of Lancaster, who was wanted on an active burglary warrant.  Felix-Morales was believed to be staying at the Red Roof Inn in the 1100-block of South College Avenue in Newark.

Members of the Newark Police Department Street Crimes Unit conducted surveillance at the hotel and located Felix-Morales in a room at the hotel.  Felix-Morales was taken into custody without incident.  During a search of Felix-Morales, suspected heroin was located in his pocket.

Felix-Morales was transported to Newark Police headquarters where he was charged with:

  • Fugitive From Another State
  • Possession of Heroin

Felix-Morales appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #11 by video.  He waived extradition and was ordered to be held without bail pending extradition to Pennsylvania.  Felix-Morales was turned over to the custody of the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington.
