Maryland Robbery Suspect Arrested at Newark Residence

On September 18, 2020, Newark Police were notified by the Ocean City (Maryland) Police Department of a robbery investigation they were conducting.  Ocean City Police reported that the suspect in the May, 2020, robbery was residing at a residence in Newark.  An arrest warrant for robbery, assault and other offenses had been issued by the Worcester County (Maryland) District Court.

On September 18th, Newark Police went to the suspect’s residence on Lynley Lane and arrested the suspect without incident and transported him to Newark Police headquarters.

The suspect, John Sarmousakis, 20, appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 by video and was ordered to be held without bail pending extradition to Maryland.  He was turned over to the custody of the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington.
