Residential Burglary Investigation; Intruder Scared off by Resident

On October 30, 2018, at about 2307 hours, officers were dispatched to an apartment at the Colonial Gardens Apartments, 334 East Main Street, for a report of a burglary in progress.

Arriving officers found that the suspect had already fled the area.  During the investigation, the male resident of the apartment advised that he came home to his apartment and heard noises from the bedroom.  As he approached the bedroom, he found that items within the apartment had been moved and/or were missing.  He entered the bedroom to find that the intruder had just fled through an apartment window.  The resident immediately called the police.

During the investigation, the victim reported that some items had been stolen from the apartment.  Some of these stolen items were recovered by police outside of the apartment after they had been discarded by the suspect.

Officers canvassed the area and did not locate a suspect.
