Newark Police Arrest Wilmington Man with a Concealed Loaded Firearm
On November 2, 2025, at approximately 0040 hours, Newark Police officers were working collaboratively with agents from the Delaware Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement (DATE) to address large groups of individuals loitering along the sidewalk area of a shopping center located in the 200 block of East Main Street.
While dispersing the crowd, officers made contact with Ze’vion Ward ,18, of Wilmington, who was observed smoking marijuana in public. Upon further investigation, Ward was found to be in possession of a handgun equipped with an extended magazine containing seven rounds of .380 caliber ammunition. The firearm was concealed in Ward’s waistband.
Ward was taken into custody without incident and charged with the following offenses:
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Firearm)
- Consumption of Marijuana in a Public Area
- Possession of Marijuana (Civil Violation)
Ward was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court #11 and issued $5,150 secured bail. He was subsequently committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.

Newark Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Locating Wanted Subject
The Newark Police Department is seeking information on the whereabouts of Edgar Ledezma-Lorzo, 37, of Newark.
The Newark Police Department has obtained arrest warrants for Ledezma-Lorzo for the following offenses:
- Burglary First Degree x2
- Criminal Contempt of a Domestic Violence Protective Order
- Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications x2
- Breach of Release x2
- Two Counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child x 2
- Offensive Touching
- Assault Third Degree
Ledezma-Lorzo also has multiple active capias issued by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas.
