Wilmington Youth Arrested for Multiple Counts of Graffiti

In July, 2019, the NPD Special Operations Unit began an investigation into graffiti located at various locations in Newark.  These locations included various City parks, railroad facilities and the old Rodney Dorm complex on Hillside Road.  Based upon the tags written and various witness and social media information gathered during the investigation, officers identified the suspect as a 14 year-old Wilmington youth.

On August 2, 2019, the youth was taken into custody following the execution of a search warrant at his residence.  The male youth was charged with 13 counts of Graffiti and 13 counts of Possession of Graffiti Implements.  In addition, he was charged with one count of Criminal Trespass Second Degree for entering the fenced-off Rodney Complex.

The youth appeared before New Castle County Family Court where he was released to parental custody on $1,000 unsecured bond.
