UPDATE – False Report Arrest – Carjacking on Library Avenue
After further investigation by the Newark Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, this incident was determined not to have occurred and was a false report to police.
On September 13, 2023, Malik Harper, 28, of Newark, turned himself in to Newark Police. He was charged with one count of Falsely Reporting an Incident. He appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 by video and was released on $1,000 unsecured bail.
