Update – Road Open – Apple Road Crash

Apple Road is now open.

On April 18, 2019, Newark Police were dispatched to the intersection of Apple Road and Winslow Road for a report of a crash involving a bicyclist.  The investigation revealed that a 20 year-old female bicyclist exited the Park ‘n Shop Shopping Center and failed to yield to a Honda Accord traveling northbound on Apple Road.  The Honda struck the bicyclist.  The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital by Delaware State Police helicopter with non-life threatening injuries.  The bicyclist was cited for Failure to Yield When Exiting a Driveway.
